30 DAYS DEVOTIONALS WITH PREACHER SAM

THE RHEMA WORD FOR TODAY

SEPTEMBER 16, 2022.

TOPIC: THE TRYING OF THE FAITH III (JOSEPH)

BIBLE READING: PSALMS 105:16-25

VERSE FOR MEDITATION: PSALMS 105:19 KJV

Until the time that his word came: the word of the Lord tried him.

Apostle Paul wrote to the church in Rome, “For whatever things were written before were written for our learning, that we through the patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.” (Rom. 15:4). And the writer of the book of Hebrews wrote, “That you do not become sluggish, but imitate those who through faith and patience inherit the promises.” (Heb. 6:12).

Both books mentioned “patience”. Patience could also be referred to as “longsuffering”. And two days ago, we saw how longsuffering is a way in which our faith is being tried. And like Abraham, the trying revealed faith in him.

So what has been written in scriptures were written for us to learn and be encouraged to remain steadfast in God. And we are told to imitate these people in scriptures who inherited the promises through faith and patience. Yesterday, we shared on the faith of Abraham and the rewards he got after passing the test of time. Today, we shall be on Joseph’s.

In our Bible reading, we can judge God faithful (Heb. 11:11), and can say truthfully that His ways are higher than our ways (Isa. 55:8, 9), and are past finding out too (Rom. 11:33). And we can conclude like Apostle Paul that all things work together for good to those who love God to those who are called according to His purpose (Rom. 8:28).

Just imagine, it was God was sent Joseph before Israel came into Egypt (Ps. 105:17, 23). We can quickly blame Joseph’s brothers for selling him as a slave, but it was God who allowed it that way so that his dream could become a reality. Joseph told his brothers, “But now, do not therefore be grieved or angry with yourselves because you sold me here; for God sent me before you to preserve life… to preserve a posterity for you in the earth, and to save your lives by a great deliverance. So now it was not you who sent me here, but God…” (Gen. 45:5-8). Few weeks later he reminded them again, “But as for you, you meant evil against me, but God meant it for good, in order to bring it about as it is this day, to save many people alive. Now therefore, do not be afraid…” And he comforted them and spoke kindly to them (Gen. 50:19-21).

Let me tell you by the Spirit of God, what you are facing at the moment and the persecutions that you are receiving from people you consider enemies are God’s intentions to push you out of your comfort zone to achieving your dreams.

There is no glory without a story; everyone who has a message for this generation to learn once had a mess.

Gold won’t have a value if it had not passed through the refiner’s fire. There’s a glory which God is about to bring out of you, so please don’t give up!

PRAYER:

PLEASE FATHER, STRENGTHEN ME NOT TO GIVE UP ON YOU. HELP ME BY YOUR SPIRIT TO PASS THIS TEST OF TIME. FOR IN CHRIST’S SAKE IN ASK THIS. AMEN.

MY SEASON TO MANIFEST GLORY IS HERE! SO I WON’T GIVE UP NOW!
