DAY 1: THE PROMISES OF GOD

30 DAYS DEVOTIONALS WITH PREACHER SAM

THE RHEMA WORD FOR TODAY

SEPTEMBER 1, 2022.

TOPIC: THE PROMISES OF GOD

 BIBLE READING: ACTS 1:1-14

VERSE FOR MEDITATION: 2 CORINTHIANS 1:20 NKJV

For all the promises of God in Him are Yes, and in Him Amen, to the glory of God through us.

Before Jesus ascended up to heaven, He taught the apostles the things pertaining to the kingdom of God, and this teaching is what made up the apostles’ doctrine (Acts 2:42). We do not know what this apostles’ doctrine is, but we understand from the writings of the apostles what this doctrine is and the things Jesus taught them that pertained to the kingdom of God.

Doctrine simply means teaching. So the apostles’ doctrine, simply means the apostles’ teaching. Apostle Paul told Timothy, “The things that you have heard from me among many witnesses commit these to faithful men who will be able to teach other” (2 Tim. 2:2). These witnesses were the ones who taught the apostles’ doctrine (Acts 1:3, 8), so everything you read in the epistles are the things pertaining to the kingdom of God.

Apostle Peter shared one of the things that pertains to the kingdom of God, the divine power of God which has given us the precious promises of God so that we can partake in His divine nature (2 Pet. 1:3-5). These promises are in the Promise of the Father (Acts 1:4), just as Apostle Peter said on the day of Pentecost in Acts 2, “the gift of the Holy Spirit” (vs. 38), and Apostle Paul said, “spiritual gifts” (1 Cor. 12:1), which means the Holy Spirit is the gift of all spiritual gifts. Without the gift of the Holy Spirit, there is no manifestation of the gifts of the Spirit (1 Cor. 12:4-7).

So all the promises of God are in the person of the Holy Spirit, and once you have the Holy Spirit, you have the power to manifest all the precious promises of God which will make you a partaker of God’s divine nature.

PRAYER:

DEAR HEAVENLY FATHER, I CONFESS AND I FORSAKE MY WICKED WAYS, I ACCEPT YOUR GIFT OF ETERNAL LIFE, AND THE GIFT OF YOUR PROMISED HOLY SPIRIT. THANK YOU FATHER, FOR I AM BORN AGAIN. IN JESUS’ NAME I HAVE PRAYED. AMEN!

DECLARATION:

I HAVE THE PROMISE OF THE HOLY SPIRIT, THEREFORE I MANIFEST THE PROMISES OF GOD.
