DAY 3: UNDERSTANDING THE MERCIES OF GOD II- THE GRACE DIMENSION

 THE RHEMA WORD FOR TODAY

(A DAILY DEVOTIONAL WITH PREACHER SAM)

TOPIC: UNDERSTANDING THE MERCIES OF GOD II- THE GRACE DIMENSION

DATE: 3 SEPTEMBER, 2021

BIBLE READING: EPHESIANS 2:1-18

VERSE FOR MEDITATION: EPHESIANS 2:7 TPT

Throughout the coming ages we will be the visible display of the infinite, limitless riches of his grace and kindness, which was showered upon us in Jesus Christ.

Grace is another dimension of the mercies of God. Grace does not simply means undeserved favour, but something happened for you to receive a favour you do not deserve. That is when mercy comes in, grace is when mercy meets with favour. Without mercy, you cannot receive grace (the undeserved favour of the lord). That is why when you come boldly to the throne of grace, what you first receive is not grace, but mercy. It is with this mercy of God that you use to find [not obtain] grace (Hebrew 4:16).

The grace of God is best understood by the mercies of God, which is why it is the dimension of the mercies of God. And in our Bible reading, before we could see the exceeding riches of God’s grace (vs. 7), we saw how He was first rich in mercy (vs 4). So grace is made possible because mercy is available.

Just as how we are the reflection of the mercies of God, we also, according our verse for meditation are the reflection of the grace of God.

Thank God for the grace of God that saved us from sin and granted us access to the Father. No amount of works and sacrifices can remit our sins, it is only by the grace of God through faith.

But do not forget that the grace of God that brought us our salvation teaches us to deny ungodliness and worldly lusts, and that we should live soberly, righteously and godly in this present world (Tit. 2:11-12). This grace has been freely given to us so that we can be God’s masterpiece, created in Christ Jesus to do good works (Eph. 2:10).

PRAYER: O Father! I thank You that Your rich mercy that has met with Your favour has brought me Your exceeding riches of Your grace. Now I am saved and I am Your masterpiece. Thank You that Your grace found me.

DECLARATION: I AM THE VISIBLE DISPLAY OF THE INFINITE, LIMITLESS RICHES OF GOD’S GRACE!
