DAY 12: NEW MERCIES
THE RHEMA WORD FOR TODAY
(A
DAILY DEVOTIONAL WITH PREACHER SAM)
TOPIC:
NEW MERCIES
DATE:
12 SEPTEMBER, 2021
BIBLE
READING: LAMENTATIONS 3:19-33
VERSE
FOR MEDITATION: LAMENTATIONS 3:23 NLT
Great is his faithfulness; his mercies begin
afresh each morning.
This
phase of mercy is the one that both the believers and unbelievers receive; new
mercies. It is because of His mercies that we are not consumed, and these mercies
come new every morning. The mercies we enjoyed yesterday are not the same as
the ones we enjoy today and they will not be the ones that we will enjoy
tomorrow. Every day we receive fresh mercies that prevent us from being
consumed in God’s holy anger.
There
are a lot of things you may be passing through at the moment, just as how we
have seen in our Bible reading, but Prophet Jeremiah said, “… this I recall to
my mind. Therefore I have hope. Through the Lord’s mercies we are not consumed,
because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning (Lam. 3:19-23). So
what you need are the new mercies of the Lord.
Forgiveness
is only possible because mercy is available. These new mercies also see to it
that we are not consumed by God’s holy anger, and that through these new
mercies, we are forgiven daily.
When
the Scripture says that God is slow to anger and abounding in mercy (Ps. 103:8;
145:8), it’s simply because of His new mercies. These new mercies come so that
we are not consumed. In other words, the new mercies cause God to be slow to
anger, in order that His mercy may abound.
What
you need is not just mercy, but the new mercies of God. These are the surest
mercies that a man can ever receive.
PRAYER:
Dear Lord, cause that I will always enjoy Your new mercies daily, in Christ’s
name I ask this. Amen!
DECLARATION:
THE NEW MERCIES OF GOD ARE MY SUREST MERCIES! HALLELUJAH!
