MEDITATION/MEMORY VERSE: 1 THESSALONIANS 5:2, 4, 5 (THE MESSAGE)
You know as well as I that the day of the Master’s coming can’t be posted on our calendars. He won’t call ahead and make an appointment any more than a burglar would… But friends, you’re not in the dark, so how could you be taken off guard by any of this? You’re sons of Light, daughters of Day. We live under open skies and know where we stand.

We were not able to exhaust yesterday’s. We were studying the times and seasons of Christ’s return, using Noah’s time as a case-study. And we were buttressing on the increase of wickedness, which we were unable to consummate.
When wickedness increase, the love of most believers will grow cold (Matt. 24:12). This had happened in Noah’s time.
2 Peter 3:3-7
Most importantly, I want to remind you that in the last days scoffers will come, mocking the truth and following their own desires. They will say, “What happened to the promise that Jesus is coming again? From before the times of our ancestors, everything has remained the same since the world has first created.” They deliberately forget that God made the heavens by the word of his command, and he brought the earth out from the water and surrounded it with water. Then he used the water to destroy the ancient world with a mighty flood. And by the same word, the present heavens and earth have been stored up for fire. They are being kept for the Day of Judgment, when ungodly people will be destroyed.
We can already sense this now. Most believers seem to have swayed from the kingdom mind-set and go after worldly pleasures.
From our Bible reading, Paul was writing to Timothy of the dangers that will arise on the last days, which we can already now.
I feel sad when many Christian youths are no longer chasing after God. They are chasing after bagging degrees, getting married and having kids, becoming famous and wealthy. Please don’t get me wrong, all these look beautiful, but when those things are taking possession of the first love, then our love for God will grow cold.
Matthew 24:37-39
But as the days of Noah were, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be. For as in the days before the flood, they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, and did not know until the flood came and took them all away, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be.
It was unpreparedness that made the five other virgins foolish. They took little oil because they fell the bridegroom will come even at sunset. But remember that in one of our devotionals, his coming was delayed because he wants many to be saved. Now, every nation of the world has heard the gospel. Time will delay no longer. Repent and turn to your first love. This is the time for us to equip ourselves with the Word so that when the Word of God tries us, we won’t be shaken. This is the time, because time will delay no longer. Maranatha! Come Lord Jesus!
