DAY 21: DIVINE DIRECTION II

THE RHEMA WORD FOR TODAY
(A DAILY DEVOTIONAL WITH PREACHER SAM)

TOPIC: DIVINE DIRECTION II
DATE: 21 SEPTEMBER, 2019
BIBLE READING: PSALM 23
MEDITATION/MEMORY VERSE: PROVERBS 16:25 (AMP)
There is a way which seems right to a man and appears straight before him, but its end is the way of death.

Yesterday we were discussing on the theme: DIVINE DIRECTION, and we see that humility towards God brings directions. Still on the theme, we are looking at it in another phase.
You may think God’s ways are the ways of destruction, but no, it is not. From our Bible reading, verses 3 and 4, even though you’re led to the darkness valley; fear not, he’s there with you; leading you in those paths of righteousness. It may be unpleasant, but yes, it’s the way of life.
Before Jesus Christ declared himself as the ‘LIFE’, he first of all called himself as the ‘WAY’. You may doubt as human if he’d promised to lead you beside the still waters. He said, ‘I AM THE TRUTH’; meaning doubt not, I am not man that lies (Num. 23:19). Then he declared finally, ‘I AM THE LIFE’ (Jn. 14:6).
It is dangerous to order your steps, because you won’t know it’s the way of destruction, until you arrive at the end point. So dangerous, because the man you were laughing at the beginning of the journey, have located grace and uplift whereas, you just retraced your steps back to God to lift you up [if you will].
Just like a man who is under the influence of an alcohol, he may see the gutter as a pathway. So also, a man under his fleshy influence may think he’s seeing the right path to life, and he won’t know because he’s under and influence, until he reaches the end, he won’t know that that way was actually the way of death— very dangerous.
But when you are submissive to the Holy Spirit, you will be under his influence, and then he will lead you (though it may seem like you’ve missed it), but the Bible says, ‘do not fear, that’s the path of righteousness; the path of life.’
To be under his influence is to be filled with him.
Ephesians 5:18
And do not be drunk with wine, in which is dissipation; but be filled with the Spirit.
And when you are filled with him, there will be a manifestation; his fruit will be borne in you.
Ephesians 5:9
For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness, righteousness, and truth.
ACTION POINT: FROM WHAT I HAVE SEEN TODAY, I REFUSE TO ALLOW SELF TO DOMINATE.
PRAYER POINT: HOLY SPIRT, I GIVE MYSELF AWAY SO YOU CAN INFLUENCE ME ON THE RIGHT PATH TO LIFE.
PERSONAL READING: ISAIAH 43:1-5
