DAY 2: THE CREATION STORY I— THE CONCEPT OF WHO GOD IS (PART ONE)
THE RHEMA
WORD FOR TODAY
(A DAILY
DEVOTIONAL WITH PREACHER SAM)
TOPIC: THE CREATION STORY I— THE CONCEPT OF WHO GOD
IS (PART ONE)
DATE: 2

BIBLE
READING: GENESIS 1:1, 2
MEDITATION/MEMORY
VERSE: MATTHEW 3:16, 17 (ERV)
So Jesus
was baptized. As soon as he came up out of the water, the sky opened, and he
saw God’s Spirit coming down on him like a dove. A voice from heaven said,
“This is my Son, the one I love. I am very pleased with him.”
The Bible
opens with the name of God. The Amplified Bible puts out Bible reading as,
“…God (Elohim)…” Elohim is the plural form of Eloah, which refers to strength;
deity. Hebrew scholars have taught that numbers are grouped into: singular
(which refers to one), duo (which refers to two) and plural (which refers to
more than two).
So, Elohim;
which refers to persons more than two, created the heavens and the earth. Now,
this number of persons are not specified here. But from our verses for
meditation for today, they gave us the specific number of persons in Genesis
chapter one.
‘In the
beginning God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit, created the
heavens and the earth.’ (Gen. 1:1).
‘Then God
(Elohim) said, “Let us…”’ (Gen. 1:26).
Just as the
way water can exists in three forms (solid-ice, liquid-water, and
gaseous-steam). So also, our God exists in three forms (God the Father—Jehovah, God the Son—Jehoshua, and God the
Holy Spirit).
ACTION POINT: I BELIEVE THAT GOD EXISTS IN
THREE WAYS, BUT HE IS ONE.
PRAYER
POINT: GOD, PLEASE GRANT UNTO ME MORE UNDERSTANDING OF WHOM YOU ARE.
PERSONAL
READING: REVELATIONS 22:1-5
