TOPIC: THE CREATION STORY X: HOW TO EXPERIENCE GOD’S PRESENCE (PART TWO)

BIBLE READING: GENESIS 2:16-20; 3:1-8, 24
MEDITATION/MEMORY VERSE: PHILIPPIANS 4:8 (CEV)
Finally, my friends, keep your minds on whatever is true, pure, right, holy, friendly, and proper. Don’t ever stop thinking about what is truly worthwhile and worthy of praise.

Yesterday, we were unable to consummate on this theme. We were answering the question from the creation story, and so we will continue from there.
In verse 16 from our Bible reading, God gave man His Word. Because in verse 17, the tree of knowledge of good and evil will one day serve as a temptation for Him. Therefore, we need God’s Word to experience His presence.
In verse 18, God saw that it was not good for that man to be alone, so he made him a helpmeet. This signifies our fellowship with our brethren.
Psalm 133:1
Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!
Psalm 122:1
I was glad when they said to me, “Let us go into the house of the Lord.”
Psalm 27:4
One thing I have desired of the Lord, that will I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the Lord, and to inquire in His temple.
Verses 19 and 20 have a connection to Genesis 1:26. Man had been given dominion over everything that lives on the earth. And this explains our authority to walk in the supernatural.
Galatians 5:16
I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfil the lusts of the flesh.
When we walk in the Spirit, He will direct our path and order our steps into experiencing God’s presence. But in chapter 3 of Genesis, we see the fall of man; man falling away from God’s presence when he sinned. Verse 6 explains that the woman had set her mind on earthly things, and as a result to that, she was dragged by lust (greed) to disobey God. And in verse 8, we see what sin had caused. The man and the woman hid themselves from God’s presence. So the only thing that will make you not to experience God’s presence in your life daily is SIN. Be it the sin of an ingenerated man, or the sin; that is the wrong doing, of a Christian.

ACTION POINT: I DISCIPLINE MYSELF TO STAY IN GOD’S PRESENCE
PRAYER POINT: DEAR GOD, I ASK FOR MERCY SO THAT YOUR PRESENCE WILL NOT FOR AT ANY MOMENT DEPART FROM ME.

2024: THE YEAR OF ESTABLISHMENT

Hosea‬ ‭2:23‬ ‭GNB I will establish my people in the land and make them prosper.
