DAY 23: PREPARE TO MEET THE LORD II

THE RHEMA WORD FOR TODAY
(A DAILY DEVOTIONAL WITH PREACHER SAM)

TOPIC: PREPARE TO MEET THE LORD II
DATE: 23 SEPTEMBER, 2019
BIBLE READING: MATTHEW 25:1-13
MEDITATION/MEMORY VERSE: AMOS 4:12 (CEB)
Truly, Israel, I will act in this way toward you; therefore, I will do this to you. Prepare to meet your God, Israel!

In verse 5, it was said that the bridegroom was late in coming. The New Living Translation puts it as THE BRIDEGROOM WAS DELAYED.
Christ is the bridegroom that is coming for the Church the body of Christ; we Christians, the Bride (Rev. 19:7).
Christ's coming is delayed for a purpose. He wants every nation to be saved (Matt. 24:14; Rev. 5:9).
But many will think that Christ's second coming is a fantasy.
2 Peter 3:3-4, 8-10
Most importantly, I want to remind you that in the last days scoffers will come, mocking the truth and following their own desires. They will say, "What happened to the promise that Jesus is coming again? From before the times of our ancestors, everything has remained the same since the world was first created." ...But you must not forget this one thing, dear friends... The Lord isn't really being slow about his promise, as some people think. No, he is being patient for your sake. He does not want anyone to be destroyed, but wants everyone to repent. But the day of the Lord will come as unexpectedly as a thief. Then the heavens will pass away with a terrible noise...
But hear me! Christ will delay no longer! Every nation has heard the gospel!
The hour is here!
Romans 13:11
I say this because you know that we live in an important time. Yes, it is now time for you to wake up from your sleep. Our salvation is nearer now than when we first believed.
Remember what verses 5 to 8 said, that the bridegroom was late in coming, and so they fell asleep. But at midnight, someone yelled out that the bridegroom is coming. And so they all woke up, but the foolish ones discovered that it was too late to make a change (their oil had run out).
So sad that about half of those professing Christians were not ready to receive him.
Matthew 25:13
Therefore, be on the alert [be prepared and ready], for you do not know the day nor the hour [when the Son of Man will come].

ACTION POINT: THE HOUR IS HERE! AND WHAT ARE WE DOING ABOUT THIS? ARE WE READY TO RECEIVE HIM?
PRAYER POINT: O LORD! HELP ME TO BE READY ALWAYS TO RECEIVE YOU WHEN YOU COME.
PERSONAL READING: 2 PETER 3:3-15
