But Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord.

The story of Noah has caught the attention of many people. A Google search pf ‘Noah’s Ark Bible Story’ yields around 4 million results. The history of the flood and eight people (who we know are Noah and his family) who witnessed it is inevitable.

The story of Noah is such an interesting story no doubt. He found grace in the eyes of God to build an ark to save himself, his family and the animal species from the flood because of his close walk and fellowship with God (Gen. 6: 8, 9). In other words, he was chosen because of his yieldedness,

The Bible says, ‘But to him who does not work but believes on Him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is accounted for righteousness.’ (Rom. 4:5 NKJV). Noah was called a righteous man, not because of what he did, but because he believed God by having a close walk with Him.

The Bible says, ‘… there is none righteous, no, not one.’ (Rom. 3:10 NKJV). ‘… and all our righteousness are like filthy rags…’ (Isa. 64:6 NKJV). So there was nothing Noah could do that would have earned him the name of a righteous man.

Yesterday, we saw the account of Abel. He yielded to God, and so God chose him. Same with Noah, he believed God; that was why he was chosen for the task. His believing God shows his yieldedness and that was why he obeyed God by doing everything exactly as He had been commanded him.

God does not just choose you for nothing, he chooses you because he has a unique assignment for you to do. You are created and designed for His glory. But Noah found grace with the Lord.
