PHRONESIS DEVOTIONAL
30 DAYS DEVOTIONAL WITH PREACHER SAM
September 9, 2023.
Topic: NEW CREATION REALITIES II
Bible Reading: Romans 6:3-10
Verse for Meditation: Isaiah 32:17 NKJV
The work of righteousness will be peace, and the effect of righteousness, quietness and assurance forever.
Now that you believe the gospel, how do you know that you’re saved?
I understand that there is a fear of missing heaven, but feat is not of God. In Philippians 1:6, Paul was so confident of the people’s salvation. Does he know what they do behind closed doors? Paul was not careless with words; he was so sure of their salvation. How much more a personal assurance of salvation?
Remember the message of the cross, that Jesus died for all sinners, even the worst sinners. And if you believe the gospel and you confessed that Christ is your Lord then you are a new man in Christ Jesus!
A new creation can be likened to a new born bay without any past (Jn. 1:12-13; 3:3, 5-8; Ps. 32:2; Isa. 38:17; 43:25; Jer. 31:34; Ezek. 33:16; Mic. 7:19; Rom. 4:7-8; Heb. 8:12; 10:17). Take note of these scriptures, sit on them and meditate on them.
You are not that person that you were before you met Christ; you are a new man in Christ! That fallen man was buried with Christ, and a new man was raised with Christ.
When you receive the gift of righteousness in Christ, you are assured that you are His forever! There is no salvation devoid of assurance. God wants you to know that you are saved, that was why you receive eternal life before you step into eternity.
Jesus did the following to assure you of salvation; He prayed about it (Jn. 17:11); He preached about it (Jn. 6:38); and He swore about it (Heb. 6:13-20).
In Ephesians 1:13, we’ve been sealed with the Holy Spirit of Promise and He has promised to uphold us till the very end. Be assured in the finished works of Christ.
When Paul wrote, “…behold all thing have become new.” (2Cor. 5:17). He is saying that we need to become aware of this new creation reality; build and develop this consciousness of the new man identity we now have in Christ.
God does not want us to live in fear and doubt about our salvation that is why He gave us His Spirit and His Word. Engage yourself by fellowshipping with His Spirit and meditating and acting out His Word.
PRAYER:
NOW UNTO HIM THAT IS ABLE TO KEEP ME FROM FALLING, AND TO PRESENT ME FAULTLESS BEFORE HIS GLORIOUS PRESENCE BE PRAISED FOREVER!
DECLARATION:
I’M A NEW MAN IN CHRIST. I HAVE NO PAST; I ONLY HAVE A FUTURE IN CHRIST.
Bible Reading Plan: John 7:40-8:30; Romans 9; Proverbs 9
