THE DEVOURING LION VS THE LION FROM THE TRIBE OF JUDAH

Image
Lions, an author explained, are legendary for their strength, beauty and fearlessness. The lion has been called the king of the beasts and the king of the jungle, and, in the Bible, Jesus is called the Lion of Judah. Revelation 5:5 [5]But one of the elders said to me, “Do not weep. Behold, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has prevailed to open the scroll and to loose its seven seals.” The Lion symbolism expands our understanding of baby Jesus in the manger. Luke 2:7,11 [7]And she brought forth her firstborn Son, and wrapped Him in swaddling cloths, and laid Him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn. Glory in the Highest [11]For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Saviour, who is Christ the Lord. And for this cause, the world has set aside this day for us, Christians, to celebrate the Word—our Saviour Jesus Christ; the Lion from the tribe of Judah; who is the King of not the jungle, but the King of all kings, becomin

LESSON FROM MY LITTLE NIECE II

Image
‘Uncle Tuoyo, thank you,’ Shalom, my little niece appreciated. I didn’t know what she was thanking me for, though I replied her, ‘Thank God,’ and continued unpegging and taking off the clothes from the line. It was evening, and I didn’t trust the weather for a dry night. ‘Uncle Tuoyo,’ she called out my name again, ‘I want to take my clothes inside.’ Was that what she was thanking me for? Well, I didn’t ask her, I gave her her clothes to take inside. Then, I learned something from her. She decided to take up the responsibility. And so, I will be sharing with you on TAKING RESPONSIBILITY. I must confess, I sometimes get away from responsibilities, but what this little girl did, make me; or should I say challenge me, to always take up responsibilities. At the time I was writing this article, I read an article from a blog about Jesus, ‘When he was 12 he hurried off to the temple to be about His Father's business. At any early age he recognized his responsibility a

LESSONS FROM MY LITTLE NIECE AND NEPHEW

Image
The Bible says, ‘Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.’ (2 Pet. 1:20, 21─KJV). So it means that Apostle Paul had a great intimacy with the Holy Spirit, because he wrote about half of the New Testament. Yet he said, ‘I want to know Christ─ yes, to know the power of his resurrection and participation in his sufferings, becoming like him in his death, and so, somehow, attaining to the resurrection from the dead. Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already arrived at my goal, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me.’ (Phil. 3:10-12 ─NIV). Apostle Paul? He wasn’t satisfied with the knowledge he had about the power of Christ’s resurrection? That’s astonishing! That’s how these my little niece and nephew (Seyifunmi and Segunfunmi) are; wanting to know more and mor

I AM A GOOD MAN

Image
Timothy Joseph, popularly known as Tim Joe in his community, is a noble man, and because of this, he is loved and respected by his people in his community. He is very religious; he never misses the church services. He’s also very generous; he gives out alms, runs scholarship programs and gives his offering and 10 percent; even more of his weekly income to the church. One day, while having a conversation with an old-time friend; Frank Kelvin, he asked him a question, “My very good friend, I’ve been longing to ask you this, I think now is the best time to do so.” “Alright, go ahead. You know it may take another decade to see each other again,” he laughed. “Okay, are you saved? I mean when you die, where would you spend eternity,” he asked. “In heaven of course. Heaven knows that I am a good man,” he replied. “Oh really?” “Yes, that’s what matter a lot.” “I know this may be so surprising. Being good doesn’t matter a lot; being good will never guarantee you of going to heaven.”

THE EXEGESIS OF JOHN 3:16

Image
For more than a decade, I’ve known how to recite John 3:16 by heart. This single verse is the commonest verse ever quoted easily. But the issue here is, what does it mean? The fact that it is very simple to quote by heart doesn’t mean that it can be interpreted literally: ‘God loves us, and that is why he sent his son, Jesus Christ to die for our sins, so that when we believe on him, we won’t perish in hell.' That’s a nice exegesis, but it goes beyond that. It exposes the Father’s love and man’s eternal salvation. Now, reading this from the KJV, there are commas in each phrase, and these phrases have their own significance. Let’s take the first phrase. For God so loved the world… And we can see a cross-reference in Romans 5:8 and 1 John 4:9 For better understanding, we shall take the pretext, the main text and the post-text. Romans 5:6, 8-11 6 For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. 8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in t

WHAT IT MEANS TO BE BORN AGAIN

Image
The phrase be (Being) Again, can only be found in three places in the whole of the 66 books of the Bible.  Two, from John’s gospel and one from Peter’s epistle. John 3:3 KJV Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. John 3:7 KJV Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again. 1 Peter 1:23 KJV Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever. Click here to subscribe to our YouTube channel  Jesus Christ told Nicodemus that the only way to get into the kingdom of God is by being born again. Nicodemus couldn’t grasp that, and so Jesus Christ had to break it further: Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. John 3:3 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he ca

20 Secrets For Raising Godly Kids

Image
Photo Credits: CREATUOYITIESART DESIGNS (CD)  These days I find it difficult giving my articles topic. I just decided to use that but this is the message: 1. Proverbs 22:6 NIV Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it. If a parent cannot handle a child when he is younger. He can NEVER handle him when he is older. It will be very difficult to do so. 2. Matthew 19:13-15 NIV [13] Then people brought little children to Jesus for him to place his hands on them and pray for them. But the disciples rebuked them. [14] Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” [15] When he had placed his hands on them, he went on from there. Parents I bet you, you will not regret this. Bring your children to Jesus and you won't have much challenges bringing them up. 3. Ephesians 6:4 NIV Fathers, do not exasperate your children; instead, bring th

God-kind Of Family

While I was preparing an indictment of 'Women Mattaz Part One', I came across a chapter in a book that has the picture of a happy and blessed home. And that is in the third chapter of Colossians; from verse eighteen to twenty-one, verses 22-23 is an additional, to those who have servants working for them, but we are not looking into that, we are only focusing on the 'wife', 'husband' and 'children'. Colossians 3:18-21 KJV [18] Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as it is fit in the Lord. [19] Husbands, love your wives, and be not bitter against them. [20] Children, obey your parents in all things: for this is well pleasing unto the Lord. [21] Fathers, provoke not your children to anger , lest they be discouraged. Biological science had proven to us that mothers have high parental care than any other creature on this earth; this is love. And I believe that's why the Bible didn't say wives, love your husbands, instead it

Women Mattaz Part One: Indictment  I strongly believe that this anonymous write-up is totally wrong. Yes, I'm not a married man neither do I have an experience. But by grace I'm a bride to my Lord Jesus Christ (Eph. 5:23; Jn. 3:29; Rev. 21:9) and I've tasted of the heavenly gift— the Holy Spirit (Heb. 6:5). And thus I write: Genesis 2:18 NIV THE LORD GOD SAID , “It is not good for the man to be alone. I WILL MAKE A HELPER SUITABLE FOR HIM .” In other words, God was saying that he would favour man with a helper. Who is this helper? Simple, A WOMAN! Let's dig deeper: Proverbs 18:22 NIV He who finds a wife finds what is good and receives favour from the Lord. To find, in this case refers to a man's communication with God (PRAYER). How did I know? Alright, without much stress, this verse has a cross-reference in Job 33:26 and Prov. 8:35 Job 33:26 NIV then that person can PRAY TO GOD and FIND FAVOUR with him, they will see God’s face

20 Things You Need To Know About Billy Graham

He was raised on a family dairy farm.  He had been turned down for membership in a local youth for being "too worldly." He got saved at the age of 16.  He got saved in a revival meetings in Charlotte led by evangelist Mordecai Ham .  He gave his first sermon between the age of 18-19 at Bostwick Baptist Church .  He gave his last sermon, My Hope America at age 95. In 1992, he suffered from hydrocephalus , which was one of the reasons he had to retire. He was about 74 years old.  He was a spi

God's General: Billy Graham

Image
From Samuel Godwin-Oburoh E.O.  An excerpt from Wikipedia   Billy Graham  (November 7, 1918- February 21, 2018) Billy Graham, one of my spiritual fathers, started from humble beginnings;  raised on a family dairy farm with his two younger sisters and younger brother.  He started to read books from an early age and loved to read novels for boys, especially  Tarzan . Like Tarzan, he would hang on the trees and gave the popular  Tarzan yell , scaring both horses and drivers. According to his father, that yelling had led him to become a minister. Billy  Graham had been turned down for membership in a local youth group for being "too worldly,"  when Albert McMakin, who worked on the Graham farm, persuaded him to go and see the evangelist  Mordecai Ham.  According to his autobiography, Graham was converted in 1934, at age 16 during a series of revival meetings in Charlotte led by Ham. Billy Graham preached his first sermon in 1937 at Bostwick Baptist Church,
