Wise Men Seek Jesus

Image
Matthew 2:1-2 KJV [1] Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judaea in the days of Herod the king, behold, there came wise men from the east to Jerusalem, [2] Saying, Where is he that is born King of the Jews? For we have seen his star in the east, and are come to worship him. These wise men that came from the east to Jerusalem; seeking for Jesus were gentiles [they were heathen], they didn’t worship the true God. But from the story outline in Matthew 2:1-12, they were idolaters─ star worshippers. These men, as we have seen in Matthew 2:1, 2, were so passionate─ leaving their country in search for Jesus. They came seeking [making enquiring]. The Bible says, ‘and ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart. And I will be found of you, saith the Lord...’ (Jeremiah 29:13-14). And that’s what these men did─ passionately seeking for Jesus. JORDAN

Barely can you see me wearing cap. Not because I don't like it; I love it. But because I say a spontaneous prayer sometimes. After I took this picture, a thought about 'JORDAN' came to my mind. The basketball figure on it shows that Jordan is also a name of a basketball team. But something deeper came through my mind, and so, I had to study Jordan. In the Hebrew Bible the Jordan is referred to as THE SOURCE OF FERTILITY of a large plain ("Kikkar ha-Yarden"), said to be watered like "the garden of the LORD" ( Genesis 13:10 ). There is no regular description of the Jordan in the Bible; only scattered and indefinite references to it are given. Jacob crossed it and its tributary, the Jabbok (the modern Al-Zarqa), on his way back from Haran ( Genesis 32:11 , 32:23–24 ). It is noted as the line of demarcation between the "two tribes and the half tribe" settled to the east ( Numbers 34:15 ) and the "nine tribes and the half tribe of Manasseh

UNDERSTANDING THE SABBATH

Image
The Bible is God-inspired book (2 Tim. 3:16) which was written over a 1500-year span through more than 40 generations by more than 40 different authors from Asia, Africa and Europe and was written in Hebrew, Aramaic and Greek. Yet with all its variety of authors, origin and content, it points all to Jesus Christ. These more than 40 authors' work were one from the same Spirit of God and not human initiative (2 Pet. 1:20-21). Therefore God's Word can never ever contradict itself.  The Bible is divided into two parts: Old Testament and New Testament. The Old Testament was written in Hebrew while the New Testament was written in Greek. The Old Testament is only a shadow of Christ; that is, it is only a symbolic value (faint representation) of Christ (Col.2:17). So, anything in the Old Testament points to just once person; our Lord Jesus Christ.  Now talking about the Sabbath, it has its first etymology in the book of Genesis chapter 2 from verse 1 through 3, where it has th
