As soon as he came up out of the water, the sky opened, and he saw God’s Spirit coming down on him like a dove. A voice from heaven said, “This is my Son, the one I love. I am very pleased with him.” The Bible opens with the name of God. The Amplified Bible puts out Bible reading as, “…God (Elohim)…” Elohim is the plural form of Eloah, which refers to strength; deity. Winning the war against Jezebel? Are we to engage ourselves in any warfare? And who is Jezebel that we are to war against? The first place in the Bible where warfare is mentioned is in Isaiah 40:2.
